         兰蔻1935年诞生于法国，是由Armand Petitjean（阿曼达·珀蒂让）创办的品牌。LANCOME 这一名称构想来自于法国中部的一座城堡LANCOSME。为发音之便，用一个典型的法国式长音符号代替了城堡名中的“S”字母。又由于“兰蔻城堡”的周围种植了许多玫瑰，充满浪漫意境于是玫瑰花成为了兰蔻品牌的象征。LANCOME的研发实力，从保养成分对肌肤的输送系统最能看出来，其中LIPOSOME（微脂囊，LANCOME最早运用在1985年推出的新生日间修护霜当中）、而NANOCAPSULES（毫微胶囊分子，运用在1996年推出的再生青春修护液及再生青春眼霜中）等标榜高科技的保养品输送系统，都是LANCOME首先应用到保养品中。LANCOME也强力开发亚洲市场，推出质地清爽、特别针对亚洲油性肌肤及追求美白女性的产品。

         Lancome was born in France in 1935 as a brand founded by Armand Petitjean (Amanda Petitjean). The name LANCOME came from LANCOSME, a castle in central France. For ease of pronunciation, the "S" in the castle's name has been replaced with a typical French long note horn. And because of the "Lancome Castle" around the planting of many roses, full of romantic mood so the rose has become the symbol of Lancome brand. The strength of LANCOME's research and development is best seen in the delivery system of skin care ingredients, including LIPOSOME (small fat capsules, LANCOME first used in the new day repair cream launched in 1985), and NANOCAPSULES (small capsule molecules, Used in the regenerated youth repair solution and regenerated youth eye cream launched in 1996) and other touted high-tech care product delivery systems, are the first LANCOME applied to care products. LANCOME is also strongly developing the Asian market, introducing products with fresh textures, especially for Asian oily skin and women seeking whitening.
